As a young singer local to Chester, Jeanie won 1st Prize in the Opera and French Song classes in the Chester Competitive Music Festival and was subsequently asked to sing in the Outstanding Competitors' Recital at Chester Town Hall in 2007. In 2006, Jeanie was granted a place on the Chester Bach Singers Young Singers' Scheme and has since returned as an oratorio soloist for the choir after leaving to train at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
In 2012, Jeanie graduated with her Masters of Music Degree from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. Since graduating, Jeanie has been busy performing with some of the UK's leading opera companies such as Opera Holland Park, Opera North and Scottish Opera and enjoys various soloist work for choral societies, up and down the country.
In 2015, Jeanie returned to Scottish Opera to make her solo debut in Janacek's Jenufa in the role of Pastuchyňa. Continuing her Oratorio work into 2016, as Alto soloist for some of her favourite works; including Handel's Messiah (Alnwick Choral Society) and Elgar's, The Music Makers (Birmingham Choral Society).
Since 2016, Jeanie's main focus has been on teaching others, and she was a Visiting Lecturer for the University of Chester - Musical Director / Course Leader for their Musical Theatre Module and Vocal Coach for their Popular Music undergraduate students. Currently, Jeanie has been appointed Choral Director for the Diocese of Wrexham NSSP (National Schools Singing Programme) since 2023.
